Hello, my name is Kirsteen Moore. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor offering psychotherapy services in the Greater Victoria Area. I have been providing counselling services in British Columbia for over 20 years and work with both teens and adults.
I am often described as slightly non-conventional in my approach, which tends to suit people who are looking for something thoughtful, relational, and a little different. Many clients come to therapy feeling weighed down by the problems in their lives. My work focuses on creating space for new and more hopeful personal stories to be remembered and developed.
I primarily work from a Narrative Therapy perspective. This approach views people as separate from their problems and focuses on strengthening personal values, identity, and relationships. When appropriate, I also incorporate creative methods such as art, drama, and music to support the therapeutic process.
My style is curious, empathic, and non-judgmental. I value humour, connection, and collaboration, and I enjoy working alongside clients as they move toward meaningful and lasting change.
I offer counselling services for:
I strive to provide a supportive and respectful space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered.
I hold the following credentials:
In addition to my formal education, I bring extensive psychotherapy training and clinical experience developed over more than two decades of practice. My work has included both private practice and government-based settings, supporting individuals, families, youth, and parents across complex life circumstances.
I am trained in and regularly draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including:
While I primarily work from a Narrative Therapy framework, I integrate these modalities thoughtfully and flexibly, tailoring therapy to the needs, strengths, and goals of each person. My approach is collaborative, creative, and grounded in relationship, humour, and curiosity.
My professional background supports a strong foundation for working with individuals, families, and parents across different stages of life, particularly where challenges feel entrenched or overwhelming.
In addition to psychotherapy, I also offer professional services including:
These services support professionals, organizations, and community groups seeking thoughtful, relationship-based mental health education and consultation. Learn more about my counselling services here.
